Unstuffed Peppers Recipe

Unstuffed Peppers Recipe

1 lb ground beef
1 jar or can of your favorite pasta sauce
2 large green bell peppers, seeded and coarsely chopped
1 1/4 cups water
1 cup of instant rice

In a large skillet, brown ground beef.
drain.
Stir in sauce, peppers, water and rice.
Bring to a boil.
Reduce heat to med-low
Cover and simmer about 20 minutes.
Keep it stirred while simmering so your rice won't stick.

variations:
You can use 1 green and 1 red pepper
or 2 green bell peppers
or 2 red bell peppers
before cooking:
toss in a few black olives
or
a few mushrooms
