OLD FASHIONED DUMP CAKE RECIPE

This cake is called a 'dump cake' because you simply dump
all the ingredients right into a pan and bake it.
You layer it in the same pan you bake it in.
No need to stir it
or wash any mixing bowls.
We Like that...

OLD FASHIONED DUMP CAKE

BLUEBERRY version

1 20 oz. can crushed pineapple w/ syrup
1 21 oz. can blueberry pie filling
1 regular yellow cake mix
1 cup chopped nuts
1 stick plus of butter
Lightly spray 9 x 13 glass pan

Spread crushed pineapple and pie filling in bottom of pan.
Sprinkle cake mix in an even layer on top
gently "level" with hand or wooden spoon
taking care not to poke into fruit layer.
Sprinkle nuts evenly over the top of the cake.

Top with thin slices of butter covering as much of the surface as possible.
Bake at 350 degrees for 45-55 minutes,
until top is lightly browned and fruit is bubbling.

May be served warm or cold,
but it's best served warm with at least one
un-measured scoop of vanilla ice cream.

*You can use cherry, blueberry or blackberry pie filling
*you can use pecans, walnuts, or almonds

A very versatile recipe.
The flavor of this cake, depends on your mood.

An oldie but a goodie.

~Warm winter wishes from our home to yours...
