The following is a Quick and Easy recipe using instant pudding, for those times when you don't have the time or the inclination to boil and bake and fuss...
This is what you need:
2 cups cold milk
1 large box of instant banana pudding mix (3.4 oz)
OR
1 large box of instant vanilla pudding mix
1/2 to 3/4 box of vanilla wafers
2-4 bananas
a pretty bowl or casserole dish w/ a cover for layering your pudding, keep in mind you will need to be able to fit this dish in your refrigerator.
a med bowl for mixing pudding.
a whisk or elec mixer.
Mix your favorite pudding as directed on the box.
-whisk the boxed mix and 2 cups of cold milk together.
I find it is best to use either vanilla or banana flavored.
Actually vanilla is best, the banana flavored is a little too-
banannay, banannae, bananaie, ba-nan-nah-e ?
:)
I heard of someone trying butterscotch pudding and they tossed the whole bowl after just one bite. I know ewwwwww...
In your serving dish - layer some of your vanilla wafers and sliced bananas.
Pour in the pudding.
Layering wafers and bananas as you like.
I usually tuck a few wafers half way in the the pudding, going around the sides of the bowl. No particular reason, that is just how my mom did it.
On the top you can place a few slices of banana and a few extra wafers.
Place in the refrigerator until you are ready to eat.
You can serve with a dollup of whipped topping or a few crumbled up wafers or just like it comes out of the fridge. Some people like to use graham crackers for the bottom 'crust', it doesn't matter, you can use any variation that you like.
See , I told you.
Quick and Easy and -
very tasty.
I like recipes that taste like I made a fuss cooking or baking it
Be sure and keep it stored in the fridge - IF it lasts that long...
Have a good Sunday !
